The film

An Inconvenient Truth is an academy award winning study of climate change, and its effects on the earth and its inhabitants. This documentary film features a clear and well-researched analysis of the current science, presented by Nobel Peace Prize nominee and former US Vice-President Al Gore.

Since the film's release, its key assertions have been confirmed by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 4th Report (the most comprehensive study of climate change in history). An Inconvenient Truth has become a powerful tool for building awareness of the imminent and increasing
threat of climate change.

Since its release on DVD, the film is already being taught in the classrooms of Australia, the U.K., Spain, Sweden, Norway, Belgium and parts of the U.S. In 2007 the Tides Canada Foundation donated copies of the film to public high schools throughout British Columbia and Ontario.

The plan

Learning Climate Educational Society is a British Columbia based non-profit society that seeks to donate a copy of An Inconvenient Truth to every secondary school in Canada.

We hope to encourage web visitors from other countries to start something like this where they live.  We would be happy to share our experiences, contacts, lessons learned, etc.  Please contact us at info@learningclimate.org.

Learning Climate wishes to thank Paramount Pictures for its generous support in acquiring copies of An Inconvenient Truth.
